Is the plastic you are holding in your hand “PET 1”?
In Japan, as you know, we separate trash in to 4 or 5 different ways and what’s tricky is that Plastic Waste is not just plastic.
Plastic waste is “PET 1” plastic only.
It is absolutely confusing, isn’t it?
There are 7 types of plastic, and 6 out of 7 are actually “burnable trash”.
Also, “Plastic / PET 1” has some rules to follow when you place them in a trash bag.
What is PET 1??
PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) is one of the most commonly used plastics in consumer products.

When you throw away plastic

Sometimes I find plastic bottles with sticky labels on it and feel frustrated because I must somehow remove the label. It makes me want to call the manufacturer to complain.ha (deep breath…)
I usually fill water in a bucket and soak the bottle to soften the label and scrub it off.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
